Guy Newsham

Guy is a retired NRC scientist, and an active playwright/actor, living in Ottawa.


Guy spent a career making buildings more energy-efficient and sustainable. He is an actor at several community theatres and started writing for the stage five years ago. His short plays have been successful in multiple competitions and festivals, with more than 30 productions in Canada, the US, the UK, and Australia.

Angela Barbosa

Angela has been working in Theatre & Film for the past 20+ years.  She is excited to be back with TOP and looks forward to this amazing Festival!


Angela is a graduate of the University of Toronto Drama program and has been working in Theatre & Film since. She has performed several different roles in both including Acting, Directing, Producing, Stage Managing and Makeup Artistry.

Two garden gnomes are stolen from their home and relocated far away! Can they find their way back home again, or will this strange new place become their new Gnome Home?

Michael Brown

Michael Brown enjoys writing, directing, and acting in his own plays. He first joined The Oakville Players in March of 1975. He has written eight full-length, twelve one-act, and 46 ten-minute plays. He has spent the past two years writing plays, poems, and short stories.

A playwright has 10 minutes to pitch their script to a publisher. As the play begins to take on a life of its own, the lines between stage and audience grow increasingly blurred.  Contains some coarse language.

Kendall Zurowski

Primarily a performer and choreographer, Kendall is excited to be working on her second show as a playwright and first show with Oakville Players!


Kendall (she/her) is a theatre artist based in the GTA. She received her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Western University, and has previously performed, produced, and choreographed shows with (Musical Theatre Productions), (Theatre Western), and (Original Kids Theatre Company).

Shan Fernando

Shan Fernando is a director/performer/producer from Toronto, and is very excited to be a part of the Top 10 Comeback Festival!


In addition to creating his own music, he has also recently written his first play, "Flowers For Alex", which will debut at the '22 Toronto Fringe Festival.  Shan is thankful to the Oakville Players, his family, and his friends for all their love and support.

Jack Humby

An enthusiastic and passionate Director and Playwright from Burlington Ontario, interested in challenging conventional storytelling techniques in his debut play: Sub Rosa


Born in Burlington Ontario, 18-year-old director, playwright, and actor Jack Humby came to the theatre later in life. Interested in finding new ways to showcase everyday stories and leave a lasting impact. Jack cherishes every moment he spends in the theatre and every aspect of the creative process. Theatre is his passion and he can't wait to share it.

Sabrina De Melo

Sabrina is a Portuguese-Canadian filmmaker from Oakville, Ontario. 


She was among the youngest in her program at the Toronto Film School while also maintaining her place at the top of her class. She has a passion for stories about candid moments people can relate to as well as advocating for mental health awareness and the LGBTQ2+ community.

A light-hearted look at the life of Abraham and Sarah as they have to move to a few different places in true Biblical fashion.

Jerrold Karch

Jerrold has been involved in every capacity of theatre for as long as he can remember.


Jerrold trained in all aspects of theatre at The University of Guelph and then apprenticed at The Shaw Festival, many years ago. He spends most of his time now directing, which seems to put together all of his training and experience.

Dan Penrose

A veteran of Community and Independent theatre performing, directing, acting and stage managing in over 100 productions since the 1970s.


Growing up in Hamilton, the theatre has been Dan's lifelong passion, both onstage and backstage, and has included independent shows as well as work with The Players Guild, DLT. Theatre Burlington, HTI, Cambridge and BPAC. The theatre, as an interest, struck a chord early on and has never waivered as the most abiding and consuming interest in his life.

Tony Corrie

A first-time playwright/director is thrilled to be part of the Comeback Festival.


Tony has had character roles in several one-act plays.
